                                                              ANNUAL REPORT OF VIDYALAYA

ACADEMIC SESSION: 2017-18

Vidyalaya Report is the mirror of the activities, efforts and achievements of all the members of the Vidyalaya.It is known to everyone that infrastructure of our Vidyalaya is not a perfect one. Inspite of this and many other shortcomings, all the members of the Vidyalaya, be it the students, teachers or other staff do not leave any stone unturned to do their best.

ACADEMICS: The name and reputation of an institution is determined by its performance in both external and internal exams. It is a matter of great delight that the result of  Class XII  was 100%. In Class X, Swati topped the school by scoring 92 % marks.This tells about the continuous efforts put in by the teachers and the students together.

But this would not have been possible without the help of our worthy Chairman, who has  always been ready to put in his efforts for the good of the Vidyalaya.We owe our gratitude to him for his guidance and help whenever it was required.

CO  CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES : We give special emphasis on all round development of the students and organise co- curricular activities to explore the hidden talent of the students. We have conducted several inter house competitions.

Approximately 30 Co- Curricular activities were organised at primary and Sn. Secondary Level during the Academic Session 2017-18.

SPORTS : Hand Ball team ( Under 14) of girls bagged first position in Regional Meet.In Under 19 Category, Prerna secured first position in Discuss Throw and Shot put. She secured third position in 100 m race. Simran also got third position in 300 m race in the same category.

Hariom got third position in Shotput. Simranjeet bagged first position in Shortput, Discuss throw and Hammer throw in Under 17 category.Ananya secured the first position in Taekwondo in Under 14 Category.

In 48 KVS National Meet 2017-18, 14 students from the Vidyalaya participated. In Under 19 category of girls, Prerna bagged third position in 4x100m race and Simranjeet got the third position in Discuss Throw in Under 17 category.Our two students participated in 63rd SGFI Meet.

SCOUT AND GUIDE ACTIVITIES : Pratham Sopan was conducted at Vidyalaya level. 3 scouts and 4 guides attended Dwitiya Sopan Testing Camp at KV, Pathankot. 6 scouts and 4 guides attended Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp at KV, Patiala. ‘International Day Of Peace’ was celebrated on 21st September 2017 at Vidyalaya level. Foundation cum Flag Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides was celebrated on 7th November 2017.

CUBS AND BULBULS join the Bharat Scouts and Guides Movement at the tender age of six when their only wish is perhaps to wear Bharat Scout and Guide uniform but along with this uniform comes Bharat Scout and Guide pledge to be honest, humble and to do a good deed daily. They learn to be disciplined, develop a team spirit and are ready to help whether it is an animal, environment or anyone else in need in their small ways. They learn all this through various competitive and entertaining activities, camping activities to make them independent and self reliant.

COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME : To have a strong and solid foundation at the Primary Level, CMP is implemented for qualitative improvement  and strengthening of the Primary Eduacation.To achieve the goal, the main focus is on the holistic development of the child: the development of personality, creativity, curiosity, skills and ability. It aims at learning by doing and experimenting ; discovering, creating and constructing their own knowledge. To attain this, we need to redefine our role from a teacher to a facilitator.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING CELL was established in the Vidyalaya in April 2016. It aims to achieve comprehensive development of the students and prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century through academic, career, personal and social skills guidance. It intends to provide an interdisciplinary team effort to address students’ needs and educational goals. It contributes to enhance learning and development of the students. Guidance and Counselling programmes are organised for all the students and quality is ensured.150 students were provided individual counselling during the academic year 2017-18.

Our Vidyalaya has a well equipped computer lab. It has 28 computers . The lab has wi-fi internet connection. Students actively attend computer classes and make projects.

Our School Library contains sufficient number of books to meet the needs and requirement of the readers. There are 6335 books, 4 newspapers and 30 magazines to engage the interest of students as well as teachers.

PARENT TEACHER MEET : We organise parent teacher meetings for different classes after unit tests and half yearly exams. The interaction between the parents and teachers help us a lot to bring the children to right path.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION : Alumni association is gaining strength year by year with good enrolment. Many of them are serving prestigious institutions. They are in touch with us and keep enquiring about the progress of the Vidyalaya.
